He was known for being stingy and selfish, and he cared more about money than anything else in the world. One Christmas Eve, Scrooge was visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley. Marley had been a miser just like Scrooge, and he had been condemned to wander the earth for eternity, carrying a heavy chain made of his own greed. The Ghost of Christmas Present showed Scrooge how other people were celebrating Christmas, and how his own actions were hurting those around him.
